Mick Cronin is a legend amongst the Parra Eels fans. Fans and players alike have great respect for him and he has been recognized as one of the NSWRL and Australian Kangaroos all-time highest point-scorer and has been named and acclaimed as one of the finest footballers of the 20th century. 

Born on the 28th of June 1951 in Kiama NSW. Cronin joined the eels in 1977 and made a huge impact on then team and its performance. He was the highest points scorer until the year 2000 when he was overtaken by Daryl Halligan. Cronin retired from the game after the 1993 season and is regarded as one of the best players to ever play for the eels.[/caption]

Constructed in 1986, the Pirtek Stadium has been home to the eels ever since. Not only does the stadium get used for rugby matches but also soccer and horse racing in its former days. A performance by non other then Michael Jackson was held here in 1986 during his Bad World Tour. In 2015 it was announced that after the 2016 season the stadium would be closed for renovations and would be reopened in late 2019.

Parramatta Park became a public park in 1858 which is one of the oldest public parks in the entire world. Evidence of aboriginal occupation dates back to 20,000 years ago. People who lived in the area called themselves the Burramatta. They lived in family groups of 5 to 60 people who looked after the land, each with their own responsibilities.
