Gradual Metamorphosis: a developmental process which exhibits 3 life stages (egg, nymph and adult). As opposed to Complete Metamorphosis the nymphs resemble the adults; they also have similar diets and habitat preferences

Generalist: any predator/pest which is able to use a wide array of species as prey or hosts. An example would be the Tick which is able to attach themselves to any pets, farm animals or people

Genus: A genera, or group, of species which shares common characteristic(s) and are found near each other on the evolutionary chain
